What is CSRD and why is it important?
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requires companies in the EU to publish detailed sustainability reports. The goal? To promote transparency and accountability in environmental issues, social impact, and governance.
CSRD: Who must comply?
The CSRD is mandatory for large companies that meet at least two of the following criteria:
- Revenue - More than €40 million per year.
- Assets - More than €20 million in total assets.
- Employees - On average, 250 or more employees per year.
- SME - From 2026, the directive will also apply to listed SMEs
If your organization meets these criteria, compliance with the CSRD is not only a legal obligation but also an opportunity to place sustainability at the core.
Key points of the CSRD
-
Extensive scope
Are you a large company or a listed SME? There is a good chance that the CSRD also applies to your organization. -
Reporting obligation
You must report in detail on environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance. This presents an opportunity to make your commitment to sustainability visible. -
Double materiality
Show how sustainability improves your business results and how your organization has a positive impact on society and the environment.
If you comply with the CSRD guidelines, you must align your cleaning solutions with strict environmental requirements.
The impact on cleaning solutions
-
Environmental friendliness
Biodegradable and non-toxic ingredients. -
Absence of harmful substances
No PFAS, microplastics, or other harmful chemicals. -
Transparent documentation
Safety data sheets, certifications, and reports on product impact.
Companies that do not comply with CSRD guidelines risk not only falling behind but also financial penalties, reputational damage, and legal consequences.
